The following is a collection of reference materials and sketches I did to prepare for one of my hybrids called "the Joining of Complimentary Forms at Dusk". For brevity's sake, this is only a sampling.
I usually amass 20-100 images mainly from Google image search. For this project I used keywords like "fertilization" and "insemination". Worth the search, if you have some free time. It was on this search that I first learned about the amazing mating habits of the banana slug.
These pictures are from Guilin, China, a place of questionable realism.
And here, I've pulled everything together and jotted some notes on materials.
